Be kind to one another. -Ellen DeGeneres
This is where the story begins. Kindness.
From sitting in my highchair repeating the word "happy!" over and over, to discovering the joy of movement, to smiling because I made someone else smile, the world was my playground for kindness.
Then, the playground at school turned out not to be so kind. The bullying started. It continued. It never seemed to stop. Kindness was no longer around me, so my own kindness numbed.
It was still inside me, somewhere deep down. The years passed and I began to peel away the layers, slowly but surely. That four-year-old self was in there, and he was so "happy!' to be finally free.
I now show up every day to honour my little self... the playful, vulnerable, carefree inner child that teaches me how to be an adult. I am grateful for each day that I have to live on purpose by treating people better and inspiring others to do the same.
No matter what brought you here today -- my yoga teaching, my singing, my anti-bullying work with young people -- thank you for being part of the journey.
Here's to spreading more kindness everywhere we go.
Au plaisir de vous voir,
